In Hong Kong, after consulting the telecommunications industry, the telecommunications authority prescribed technical specifications for telecommunications equipment in the form of HKTA specifications. The technical specifications are mainly for the implementation of electrical safety, interference prevention, network compatibility and network interoperability. A local certification body or an overseas certification body recognized by the telecommunications Secretary (hereinafter referred to as "certification body") may grant certificates to telecommunications equipment that has been certified and meets the relevant technical specifications.
The purpose of the Hong Kong telecommunications equipment certification and certification scheme is to regulate the certification and certification of telecommunications equipment, including radio communication equipment for use in Hong Kong and user indoor equipment connected to the public telecommunications network.
The Hong Kong telecommunications equipment certification and certification scheme consists of the following parts:
a. Classification of verification requirements;
b. Approved testing agent;
c. Certificate of award;
d. Label arrangement.
OFTA certification is the abbreviation of Hong Kong telecommunications product certification scheme issued by Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority. The Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority requires that telecommunications equipment which has been tested and complies with the relevant technical specifications shall not be sold and used in Hong Kong until it has been certified by the authority. Since February this year, the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) has officially become an authorized certification body of the Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority (OFTA) and provides certification services on behalf of the Hong Kong Telecommunications Authority for telecommunications equipment used or sold in Hong Kong.
In recent years, Shenzhen has become one of the largest communication industry bases in China. The annual output value of mobile phones, cordless phones, walkie talkies, base stations and other communication products exceeds 230 billion yuan, and the export volume of telecommunication products is huge. According to relevant authorities, last year alone, the production of mobile phones in Shenzhen exceeded 200 million.
According to this cooperation, Shenzhen's mobile phones, base stations and other telecommunication products can complete the special compulsory certification requirements (OFTA certification) for telecommunication products in Shenzhen, and get the "license" to enter Hong Kong within two weeks, which is more than half the time shorter than before.
