ISO9001 certification
According to the latest survey results issued by the international organization for Standardization (ISO) in November 2007, by the end of 2006, a total of 897866 certificates of ISO9001:2000 have been issued in 170 countries, of which 162259 certificates have been issued by China, accounting for 18% of the total number of certificates issued, ranking first in the world. This shows that the 2000 standard has been widely used and attracted the attention of many organizations, and China has become a veritable quality management system certification country.
Characteristic
Independent third-party quality system certification was born in the late 1970s. It evolved from product quality certification. ISO9001 quality system certification has the following characteristics:
1. The object of certification is the supplier's quality system. The object of quality system certification is not a product or service of the enterprise, but the quality system itself. Of course, the quality system certification will inevitably involve the products or services covered by the system. Some enterprises apply for the certification of the general quality system, including all kinds of products or services of the enterprise, and some applications only include the certification of the quality system of some or part of the products (or services). Although the scope of products involved is large or small, the object of certification is the supplier's quality system.
2. Certification is based on quality assurance standards. For quality system certification, the supplier often provides quality assurance for the external needs, so the certification basis is the relevant quality assurance mode standards. In order to make the quality system certification meet the international practice of mutual recognition, the supplier had better choose ISO9001:2008 standard.
3. The certification body is the third-party quality system evaluation body. In order to make the quality system certification of the supplier fair and credible, the certification must be undertaken by a third-party organization which has no economic interest and administrative affiliation with the certified unit (Supplier). In addition to having experienced and well-trained personnel, qualified resources and procedures, this organization must also win the support of the government and the trust of the society with its excellent certification practice, with authority and impartiality.
4. The approved identification is registration and certificate issuance. For the quality system applying for certification according to the prescribed procedures, when the assessment results are qualified, the certification body shall register and issue certificates to the certification enterprises, list them in the list of quality system certification enterprises, and publish them publicly. Enterprises approved for certification may use the registration mark in promotional materials, trade fairs and other promotional activities, but shall not directly use the mark on products or their packages, so as to avoid confusion with product certification. Registered signs shall be protected by law and shall not be used or forged.
5. Certification is the independent behavior of enterprises. Product quality certification can be divided into safety certification and quality certification. Safety certification is often mandatory certification. Quality system certification is mainly to improve the quality reputation of enterprises and expand sales volume. Generally, enterprises voluntarily apply for it, which belongs to the independent behavior of enterprises. However, enterprises that do not apply for certification are often under the pressure of distrust or trade barriers naturally formed in the market, which forces enterprises to strive to enter the ranks of certification enterprises, but this is not the compulsory role of certification system or government decrees.
