What is telec certification in Japan?

Japan's Radio law requires the type approval of designated radio equipment (i.e. conformity certification of technical regulations). Telec certification is mandatory. Telec (Telecom Engineering Center), a registration and certification institution recognized by mic in the designated radio equipment scope, is the main registration and certification institution of Japanese radio equipment compliance certification. Telec is also called mic certification in Japan. Telec is one of the designated license issuing agencies of MIC, so it is collectively referred to as telec certification.

Telec certification standard

For the technical standards of telec certification, please refer to the classification and technical standards of designated radio equipment listed in the technical regulation compliance certification system on its official website. It is worth noting that in case of any difference between these technical standards and the technical requirements of the radio regulation commission rules No.18, the radio regulation shall prevail.

Telec Certification Type

Telec certification includes test certification and type certification. Test certification is to verify each device unit, which is only valid for each verified device unit;

Type approval refers to the verification of samples of a batch of equipment of the same design and manufacture, which is valid for the batch of equipment. However, if the design or manufacture of the equipment changes, the equipment will need to be re certified.

It is worth noting that for the use of non low power wireless power station and its terminal equipment, it is necessary to apply for license from mic.

In addition, there are two cases for the compliance certification of telecommunication terminal equipment:

For ordinary telephone devices, only jate certification is required by the telecommunications industry law;

For wireless terminal equipment, in addition to jate certification according to the requirements of the telecommunications industry law, telec certification is also required according to the requirements of the wireless electricity law.

Telec certification of WLAN and Bluetooth products

Telec is Japan's compulsory certification for wireless products, some similar to the domestic SRRC. It follows the Japanese radio wave law. The specific test specification is in accordance with the mic (Japan general affairs department) Notice No.88 regulations. See the following link http://www.tele.soumu.go.jp/j/material/test.htmthe update and maintenance of the test specification is also carried out by mic.

The test items of WiFi and Bluetooth products are basically different from those of European standard and American Standard.

Among them, the standard used for 2.4GHz WiFi products (802.11b/g, 2412-2472mhz) and Bluetooth products is mic notice No.88 annex43, but for 14 channels (channel 14: 2471-2497mhz) of 2.4GHz WiFi products, annex44 needs to be used separately for testing and issuing reports, and the corresponding fees need to be increased.

For 5GHz WiFi products (802.11a, 5180-5320mhz, w52 band and W53 band), the test standard followed is annex45. However, it should be noted that MIC will modify annex45 in the near future to include 5.6ghz devices (band w56) into annex45, and have more strict DFS test requirements for band 56

All the above specifications go back to Annex 1, so you need to pay attention to Annex 1 when referring to the above standards.
